PENGARUH STRATEGI BELAJAR PQ4R (PREVIEW, QUESTION, READ, REFLECT, RECITE, REVIEW)TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SEJARAH SISWA KELAS XI MIA DI MAN 7 PIDIE

Abstract


The study entitled "The Effect of PQ4R Learning Strategies (preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review) on the Historical Learning Achievement of Class XI MIA Students in 7 Pidie MAN" aims to analyze the effects that occur after learning using the PQ4R strategy in particular student achievement. The material taught is: The process of entry and development of the occupation of western nations in Indonesia (Portuguese, Dutch, and English). This study uses a quantitative approach and types of experimental research. The population in this study uses total sampling, namely the technique of collecting samples if all members of the population are used as samples. The total sampling in question is all students of class XI Mia1 and Mia2, amounting to 40 people. Data collection techniques in this study used tests, and documentation. Based on the results of the study it is known that (1) homogeneity of the two classes sampled is homogeneous. This result is known from the results of hypothesis testing with the results of the calculation of Fcount <Ftable which is 0.82 <2.15. (2) for the normality test of the experimental class obtained X2 count = 6.84 and X2table = 16.9 and the normality test of the control class obtained X2count = 7.86 and X2table = 16.9, it can be said the experimental class and control class are normally distributed (3) the results of hypothesis testing using t-test and obtained a value of tcount = 1.81, while t table 1.68 at a significant level (α = 0.05) with dk = 38 is 1.68 with the criteria Ha accepted. This research shows that learning using the PQ4R learning strategy can improve student learning achievement. This is known from the average value of students is 70.6, while in the control class that still uses conventional methods or lectures the average value of students is 63.9. Thus it can be concluded that the teaching and learning process using the P4QR strategy shows better learning outcomes.
