Publication Ethics
Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure that its publication process and output are ethical, adhering to best publication practices throughout the publication process. Please review the brief description of core practices in the Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga. For more detailed information, please refer to the official COPE website at https://publicationethics.org/core-practices.
Allegations of Misconduct
When allegations of misconduct are brought to the attention of the Editor-in-Chief, they will investigate the allegations. If there are concerns about a lack of competence or a conflict of interest, the Editor-in-Chief will recommend to the Head of the Community Service Research Department at Syiah Kuala University to form an independent committee to investigate the allegations. If the allegations are substantiated based on the investigation, the Editor-in-Chief will take further action, including but not limited to amending the article, retracting the article, removing the author from authorship, and assigning additional reviewers.
Authorship and Contributorship
Authors must state the contributions of each author in the cover letter accompanying the manuscript when submitted to the journal and must certify that no other author(s) have been omitted. If there is a change in authorship, the journal must be notified and the change must be explained in detail. Changes in authorship will not be accepted after the final revision is submitted unless they can be clearly justified and warrant careful review, and all authors must agree to these changes. The final revision is the revised version on which the paper is accepted for publication. A manuscript published in the journal should not have more than seven authors. The journal only permits the following contributions to be listed as authors: data acquisition, data analysis, data interpretation, writing the article, critical review of the article, and final approval of the version to be published.
The corresponding author is the author who communicates with the journal regarding the publication process. The corresponding authorship cannot be changed except due to force majeure (including mental illness, serious illness, and death of the current corresponding author) and the withdrawal of the authorship by the current corresponding author.
Complaints and Appeals
The Editor-in-Chief works with the handling editor to handle complaints about publication decisions, the publication process, and publication ethics. Authors are welcome to appeal if their article is rejected without satisfactory justification. Due to the high volume of submissions, the handling editor cannot provide a detailed explanation for desk rejections after internal review, but the decision will be reviewed upon appeal. The decision is based on the results of the most recent internal review. Rejections after external review are final, but appeals are acceptable if there are inconsistencies between the external review results and the editorial decision. The editor's decision will be reviewed, and the results will be communicated to the reporter and/or author. Regarding the publication process, the handling editor always makes every effort to complete the review process in a timely manner. However, reviewers are busy academics who sometimes cannot avoid delays in submitting their reviews. Authors are welcome to raise their complaints, and efforts will be made if the delay is due to the journal. Finally, when complaints are raised regarding publication ethics, the Editor-in-Chief will consult COPE guidelines and take the recommended procedures to handle the complaint.
Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest occurs when an author, their supervisor, or their sponsor has a relationship with another person or organization that could influence their research. All potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed by authors when submitting a paper. Authors must also report any conflicts of interest that may arise after the paper is submitted, if they arise before the paper is formally published. Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga adheres to COPE in handling potential undisclosed conflicts of interest that arise during the review process or after a paper is published. For more information about conflicts of interest, see this article: https://publicationethics.org/news/cope-education-subcommittee-focus-conflicts-interest
Upon receiving a report of a potential undisclosed conflict of interest from an editor or reviewer, the Editor-in-Chief shall notify the author and express their concerns. If the author denies a conflict of interest, the Editor-in-Chief shall explain the journal's policy and definition of a conflict of interest, and the author shall sign the report.
