Effect of the Application of Babadotan Ethyl Acetate Extract (Ageratum conyzoides L.) on Growth and Changes in Biochemical Activity of Spinach Duri Weed (Amaranthus spinosus L.)
Abstract
Abstract. This study aims to examine the effect of application of babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides L.) ethyl acetate extract in varying concentrations on the growth and changes in the biochemical activity of thorn spinach weed. This research applies a completely randomized design (CRD) approach with a non-factorial pattern and then analyzes the data using the ANOVA test. The results of babadotan ethyl acetate extraction were applied starting from concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, as well as distilled water and 2,4-D, as a comparison with 3 replications of each treatment. Application of a 15% concentration of babadotan ethyl acetate extract was able to inhibit the growth of plant height, number of leaves, root length, dry weight of the crown and roots, as well as control the percentage of weed growth. Meanwhile, a concentration of 20% is the best treatment to increase the electrical conductivity value.
