Biofisik Wilayah dan Potensi Pengembangan Nilam Rakyat di Kecamatan Lhoong Kabupaten Aceh Besar

Abstract


Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kondisi biofisik wilayah dan potensi pengembangan nilam rakyat di Kecamatan Lhoong Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode deskriptif melalui studi literatur, analisis peta, pengamatan lapangan dan analisis laboratorium. Biofisik yang dinilai meliputi iklim, pola penggunaan lahan, topografi (bentuk wilayah), dan jenis tanah serta penilaian kesesuaian lahan potensial yang didasarkan pada faktor pembatas utama terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman nilam (Pogestemon cablin). Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa wilayah Kecamatan Lhoong memiliki iklim tipe C dengan curah hujan rata-rata tahunan 1.850 mm/th dengan jumlah bulan kering 3-4 bulan dan bulan basah <8 bulan. Bentuk wilayah umumnya berbukit hingga bergunung (8-45%) dan yang sesuai untuk lahan budidaya nilam adalah sekitar 93,5%. Wilayah Kecamatan Lhoong dengan kemiringan lahan >45% didominasi oleh tanah ordo Entisols yang berbatu dan terjal, sedangkan wilayah yang relatif terdiri atas ordo Inceptisols dengan tingkat kesuburan tanah sedang hingga rendah. Hisil evaluasi lahan menunjukkan bahwa secara potensial areal yang sesuai untuk dikembangkan menjadi lahan penanaman nilam memiliki kelas S3 (sesusi marjinal) dan N (tidak sesuai) karena dibatasi oleh faktor pembatas iklim berupa temperatur (tc), ketersediaan air (wa) dan media perakaran rc).

Regional Biophysics and Potential for Community Patchouli Development in Lhoong Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency

Abstract. This study aims to examine the biophysical conditions of the area and the potential for community patchouli development in Lhoong sub-district, Aceh Besar District. The research was conducted using a descriptive method through literature studies, map analysis, field observations, and laboratory analysis. The biophysics assessed includes climate, land use pattern, topography (a form of the area), and soil type as well as potential land suitability assessment based on the main limiting factors on the growth of patchouli plants (Pogestemon cablin). The results of the evaluation show that the Lhoong District area has a type C climate with an annual average rainfall of 1,850 mm/year with a dry month of 3-4 months and a wet month of <8 months. The shape of the area is generally hilly to mountainous (8-45%) and what is suitable for patchouli cultivation is around 93.5%. The Lhoong District area with a slope of > 45% is dominated by the soil of the Entisols order which is rocky and steep, while areas that are relatively composed of the Inceptisols order with moderate to low soil fertility. Potentially suitable areas for patchouli planting are classified as S3 (marginal adjustment) and N (inappropriate) because they are limited by climatic constraints such as temperature (tc), water availability (wa), and root media rc).
