Respon Pertumbuhan Tanaman Padi (Oryza Sativa L.) Terhadap Pemberian Arang Sekam Pada Cekaman Garam
Abstract
Growth Response of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) on Aplication of rice husk charcoal Under Salt Stress
Abstract. This study aims to identify the response of plants to the application of husk charcoal under salinity stress. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam, Banda Aceh, from July 2021 to December 2021. The study employed a factorial randomized block design (3x4) with 2 factors and 3 replications. There were 12 treatment combinations, and each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. Two plant samples were used for each experiment. The study focused on two factors, namely the dose of rice husk charcoal and the level of salinity stress. The results of the study revealed that the application of rice husk charcoal had a highly significant effect on plant height at 8 weeks after planting (WAP), number of leaves at 6 WAP, number of tillers at 8 WAP, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, and plant biomass. It also significantly influenced plant height at 4 and 6 WAP, as well as the number of tillers at 6 WAP. On the other hand, salinity stress treatment had a highly significant effect on all observed parameters. The interaction between salinity stress levels and doses of rice husk charcoal had a highly significant effect on plant height at 2, 4, 6, and 8 WAP, number of leaves at 6 WAP, number of tillers at 8 WAP, crown weight, and plant biomass.
