Distribusi C-Organik pada Berbagai Jenis Tanah dan Kedalamannya di Kabupaten Gayo Lues

Abstract


Abstract .Soil is the largest carbon reservoir in terrestrial ecosystems, half of the carbon enters the soil through plant residues and other soil organisms that decompose and accumulate in the soil. Each type of soil has a different amount of carbon with the depth of the soil. This study aims to determine the distribution of C-organic in the soil of Podsolic Brown and Podsolic Merah Yellow with its depth. This study used a survey method accompanied by field observations accompanied by soil sampling based on land map units (SPL). The data from the research were interpreted and then analyzed descriptively to describe the distribution of C-organic in the two types of soil studied. The results showed that Podsolic Cocoa soil had a total C-organic content of 7, 03% (high) and Red Yellow Podsolik had a total organic C of 3.99% (medium). Distribution of C-organic namely C-total, C-Free, C-Bound Clay, and C-Bound sesquioxides in each type and depth of soil has a different amount of carbon. Brown Podsolic and Red Yellow Podsolic soils have the same pattern, namely the higher the soil depth, the lower the organic C content.
