Objektivitas Surat Kabar Serambi Indonesia Terhadap Pemberitaan Konflik Sara di Aceh Singkil

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini berjudul “Objektivitas Surat Kabar Harian Serambi Indonesia Terhadap Pemberitaan Konflik SARA Di Kabupaten Aceh Singkil (Studi Analisis Isi Imparsialitas Pemberitaan Konflik SARA Aceh Singkil Edisi 15-22 Oktober 2015)”. Objektivitas dalam pembuatan berita sangat diperlukan, Hal ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan profesionalisme wartawan dalam melayani publik. Objektif juga berarti seorang wartawan tidak berat sebelah dalam liputannya. Jika meliput dua perselisihan yang berbeda, prinsip cover both side harus dilakukan. Kabupaten Aceh Singkil tengah di landa konflik SARA berkepanjangan mulai dari tahun 1979 hingga 2015 adalah sebagai puncak pertikaian terkait pelanggaran aturan pendirian gereja yang belum mendapatkan izin resmi dari Pemerintah Kabupaten setempat. Pertikaian ini membuat warga mengamuk dan tidak mentolerir lagi sehingga berujung pada kerusuhan dengan membakar secara brutal tempat peribadatan bagi kaum nasrani yang bermukim disana. Konflik ini semakin krisis dan dramatis setelah media turut memberitakan ke ruang publik. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kuatitatif, dengan menggunakan analisis isi kuantitatif. Dari hasil analisis tersebut, diperoleh gambaran yang jelas mengenai permasalahan dalam penelitian. Keberpihakam media dalam kasus isi dilihat dari pemberitaan (berupa berita headline) media tersebut. Keberpihakan tersebut diukur berdasarkan indikator impartiality, yaiu uji netralitas dan keberimbangan pada 6 item berita. Wartawan Serambi Indonesia sudah bersikap netral dalam menyajikan berita. Namun untuk cover both side dan akses proporsional masih belum berimbang, yakni hanya melihat dari satu sisi, sedangkan pihak-pihak yang berlawanan terlibat langsung dalam konflik tersebut tidak terlalu di tonjolkan.

ABSTRACT

            The title of this research is “The Objectivity of Serambi Indonesia Newspaper towards Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Inter-group Relations (SARA) conflict reports in Aceh Singkil District (Analysis Study in Impartiality content of SARA conflict reports in Aceh Singkil 15-22 October edition)”. The objectivity in reporting the news is completely necessary. This action aims to support the professionalism of reporters in serving the public. Moreover, the objectivity also means that a reporter does not take any side in reporting his/her news. When reporting two different disputes, cover both sides principal should be implemented.  Aceh Singkil District was experiencing SARA conflict which began from 1979 to 2015. The conflict reached its peak as a result of a dispute about rule violation of establishing a church which did not get official permission form the local government. This dispute led to outrageous and intolerance residents until the local community brutally burnt down the Christian worship place. This conflict was growing crisis and became dramatic after media reported it to the open public. The methodology used in this research is qualitative descriptive approach, using quantitative analysis content. From result of the analysis, the clear picture about the core problem was obtained in the research of media bias; in this case it is seen from the media report (headline news). The bias was measured based on impartiality indicator, which was neutrality and balance test in 6 news items. Serambi Indonesia reporters have acted neutral in reporting the news. However, in cover both sides and proportional access are still imbalance, which only one side was seen, whereas the opposite parties who were directly involved in the conflict were not clearly appeared.
